May 02, 2026 The right certification depends on your company’s ownership, management, control, industry, location, customer requirements, target opportunities, and business goals.

Some businesses pursue national certifications such as WBE certification, MBE certification, or WOSB certification. Others may need a state, local, county, city, airport, transportation, corporate, DBE, SBE, or specialty certification because a specific customer, RFP, RFQ, prime contractor, or agency requires it.

More certifications are not always better. Each certification has its own eligibility rules, documentation requirements, review process, cost, renewal or recertification schedule, and business use. The best certification path is usually the one that aligns with your actual customers, contract opportunities, supplier diversity goals, or procurement requirements.

Premier Certification Services reviews your ownership structure, company documents, customer requirements, and target opportunities to help determine which certification path may fit your business before an application is prepared.

Not sure which certification is right for your company? Schedule a free certification consultation to discuss your ownership, documentation, customer requirements, and next steps.
